Welcome to the Acarist People’s Republic, a strict communist country in the early 1980s. You are a rookie border guard inspector, assigned to a remote outpost in the mountainous region of Karikatka. Your mission is simple: check, inspect, and maintain order. But in a world where smuggling, corruption, and forgery are the norm, every vehicle is a potential threat and every driver a potential liar.
This is more than a desk job; it’s a fight for survival. Inspect documents, hunt for contraband, manage your outpost, and defend it from violent attacks by the Blood Fist rebels.
Master the Art of Inspection
Your primary duty is to inspect all who enter.
- Meticulous Document Control: Scrutinize every visitor’s papers. Cross-reference IDs, passports, and entry permits against your daily briefing. Even the slightest discrepancy, from an expired date to a mismatched photo, is grounds for denial.
- Hunt for Hidden Contraband: Your intelligence will provide clues about suspicious drivers. Order them out of the vehicle and begin your search. Use a UV flashlight, knives to cut open upholstery, and crowbars to pry open hidden compartments. No amount of contraband should cross your border.
Defend Your Post
Your outpost is a constant target for the Oberankov’s gang and other rebels.
- Engage in Shootouts: When the alarm sounds, grab your weapon and defend your station. Engage in intense firefights to protect your post and your fellow officers.
- Police Chases: Not every smuggler will go quietly. If a driver makes a run for the border, jump in your police car, hit the sirens, and engage in high-speed pursuits to stop them and make the arrest.
Manage and Grow Your Outpost
A successful inspection earns you cash. Use your funds to upgrade your police station, building better defenses to withstand attacks and improving your inspection tools to find contraband more efficiently. Hire and manage staff to help with your duties, but always keep an eye on the rising costs of maintenance.
