This is not a game about winning; it’s a game about enduring. Welcome to the post-soviet country of Chernarus, a harsh and unforgiving open world where a mysterious plague has turned most of the population into frenzied infected. You are one of the few immune survivors, and now you must scavenge, fight, and survive against both the infected and the potentially far more dangerous threat: other players.

There are no tutorials, no waypoints, no help. Every decision matters. One mistake could be your last. How long will you survive?

Unforgiving Hardcore Survival

DayZ throws you into a brutal simulation where your basic needs are a constant battle.

• Manage Your Health: You must find food and water, treat injuries, stay warm and dry, and combat diseases. Neglect any of these, and death will come swiftly.
• Scarcity is Law: Resources are incredibly scarce. Every can of food, every bandage, every bullet is precious. Scavenging derelict buildings, military bases, and abandoned towns is essential, but always fraught with danger.
• Permadeath Consequences: When you die, you lose everything. Your gear, your progress – gone. You respawn fresh on the coast, forced to start your struggle anew.

A Vast and Hostile Open World

Explore the sprawling 230 square kilometer map of Chernarus, based on real-world locations. Discover dense forests, abandoned villages, large cities, and hidden military complexes. The world is hauntingly beautiful but utterly indifferent to your survival. Navigate using landmarks and a compass; there is no mini-map to guide you

The Infected Threat

The plague victims are a constant menace. While often individually manageable, they react to sound and sight, quickly swarming unsuspecting survivors. Stealth, careful planning, or decisive action is required to deal with them.

The Unpredictable Human Element

The greatest threat in DayZ often comes from the other 60 players sharing the server with you. Every encounter is a tense, unscripted moment. Will you cooperate for mutual survival? Trade precious supplies? Or will it be a brutal fight to the death where only one walks away with the loot? Trust is a luxury few can afford. Kill on sight is a common reality.
