You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn. The two of you are investigative journalists following a trail of clues that started with the impossible murder of a pregnant woman. Your investigation leads you miles into the Arizona desert, where a helicopter crash separates you. You must find Lynn in a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that you may never escape with your sanity.

A New Kind of Nightmare

Your search for Lynn leads you to Temple Gate, a remote village deep in the wilderness, hidden from civilization. You’ve stumbled upon a deranged cult, led by the charismatic prophet Sullivan Knoth, who believes the end of days is upon you. You are an outsider, and the cult will stop at nothing to protect its secrets and “save” its flock from the supposed Antichrist.

Like its predecessor, Outlast 2 gives you no way to fight back. Your only weapons are your wits, your speed, and your will to live.

• Run & Hide: You are a cameraman, not a soldier. Flee from the terrifying residents of Temple Gate and find shelter. Hide in barrels, lockers, tall grass, cornfields, or water to evade your pursuers.
• Your Camera is Your Lifeline: Your camcorder is your only way to see in the pitch-black darkness, thanks to its night vision mode. But its battery is limited.
• New Tools for Terror: The camera has been upgraded with a new, sensitive microphone, allowing you to pick up on the footsteps and mutterings of distant eemies, giving you a precious few seconds to plan your escape or find a new hiding spot.

A Descent into Madness

As you explore the desolate village, you’ll be plagued by harrowing hallucinations from your own traumatic past. The lines between the horrors of your mind and the brutal reality of Temple Gate will begin to blur, forcing you to question everything you see.
